Ken Harrell is the managing partner of the Joye Law Firm. Harrell spent his first six years as a lawyer with Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough, a respected South Carolina corporate defense law firm. In 1994, he joined the Joye Law Firm and switched his focus to helping individuals in cases involving workers' compensation claims, automobile accidents,and defective products. In addition to serving as the firm's managing partner, Harrell also heads up the firm's workers' compensation and mass torts practices.
Mr. Harrell is a frequent author and speaker for the South Carolina Bar's continuing legal education program and the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association. He has been a featured speaker for programs such as the “The Law of Workers' Compensation in South Carolina,” “Trying the Automobile Injury Case,” “Paralegals and the Litigation Team in South Carolina,” and “Premises Liability: Preparation and Trial of a Difficult Case in South Carolina.”
Active in legal and civic organizations, Mr. Harrell serves as vice president for the Injured Workers' Advocates. He is also the chairman of this organization's legislative committee. He also has served as a pack leader for the Christ Our King Cub Scouts Pack 470 and as a Little League coach for various sports for the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department. Presently, he is an active member of the Christ our King St. Vincent Depaul Charitable Society.
